I first became familiar with the legal system and case work as a Domestic Violence Social Worker and Legal Advocate while still in college, studying Public & Social Service and Sociology at Kennesaw State University. In this role I represented Domestic Violence victims in court making sure their attackers would receive punishment for their crime. I also assisted in helping victims find employment, housing and child care, to prepare them for leaving the shelter. I was only 21 when I started this job, so it was quite a learning experience.
A few years later, I found myself working as a counselor and class instructor for DUI offenders. It was my job to teach the state mandated course and to counsel students on responsible alcohol consumption. Later, I oversaw a 156 bed medical facility as a Social Worker and Case Manager. I assisted each patient from admission to discharge making sure all personal needs were met and patients rights were adhered to. This job taught me the fine art of juggling many, many tasks, while still paying attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
After sometime as a Social Worker, at the urging of friends and family, I returned to school for yet another degree. This time I attended Art Institute of Atlanta where I studied Interior Design. After school I had a failed attempt at starting my own Interior Design business. Needless to say, my skills as an Interior Designer do not come in handy very often in my new profession.
While on a short hiatus, trying to figure our which career path to follow, I met my now ex-husband and started assisting him with a death penalty case as his Intel Analyst. It was my job to read through the stacks and stacks of discovery and narrow it down to something workable. It was a short time after this that I returned to the classroom and earned my Private Investigators Certification, as well as, a Bail Enforcement Agent Certification. This allowed me to start actively working cases with my then husband, as well as, take on cases on my own.
In 2003 my ex-husband and I opened Covert Operations, Inc.. where I was President / CEO. While at Covert Ops, I was Lead Investigator on yet another death penalty case, numerous felony and misdemeanor cases; including murder, manslaughter, theft, assault, kidnapping, child pornography and identity theft. I also worked tirelessly on skiptrace, witness locations and fugitive apprehension/ Bail Enforcement cases. During our years in business my ex-husband and I, as a team, maintained a 98% recovery rate on our bail enforcement cases.
It was my investigation of a domestic matter that uncovered the Deputy Chief of Epidemiology of the Center for Disease Control, Scott McCombs, involvement in child pornography. I also had an Identity Theft case profiled on The Montell Williams Show in 2005. And in February 2007 I found a 9 yr. old boy that had been kidnapped by his father 6 yrs earlier.
Time and experience have allowed me to build quite a reputation as a skiptracer, criminal investigator and Bail Enforcement Agent. A small stable of attorneys from New York to California rely on me to find witnesses that other PIs and Process Servers can't seem to find. I have also developed some wonderful professional relationships with several attorneys in the Atlanta area who rely on me for all of their Private Investigation needs. Additionally, in February 2007, I became the first female approved as a state recognized Bail Bondsmen and Bail Enforcement instructor, certified by the Georgia Association of Professional Bondsmen.
In May of 2007 I incorporated under the name Blue Dog Investigations & Services, Inc. and set out to build my own Private Investigations Agency. Finally, on December 13, 2007, Blue Dog became a reality. During 2008 many exciting things happened, including Blue Dog Investigations & Services, Inc. being named "The Bert Show's Private Investigator" of Q100's Bert Show. 2009 saw the introduction on some new services, including Supervised Visitations.
Now it is 2010. In March I will complete my Master's degree in Forensic Psychology, followed by the start of the long road to completion of my Ph.D. But don't worry, I will still be out on the road "Sniffin'em Out & Trackin'em Down".
I hope you will join us as we grow. I look forward to serving you.
Truly,
